Querom Elektronik GmbH is a subsidiary of Lacon that specializes in the development and production of customer-specific power electronics. Since it was founded in March 2017 in Geisenhausen, Lower Bavaria, the company has been implementing tailor-made projects for customers from various industries - with great success.

Our expertise and our focus at Querom are on customer-oriented developments and the sale of high- and low-voltage DC/DC converters in the power range from 1 to 10kW

Functional principle

DC-DC converters convert direct voltages (DC) into other voltage levels and depths or into inverted voltages.

Our DC/DC converters are the intelligent link between a DC voltage source and an overall electrical system with networks at different voltage levels. In addition to pure power transmission, our DC/DC converters have precise measured value and system diagnostics functions.

To fulfill these parameters, we choose from a pool of different converter typologies. These include non-isolated buck and boost converters as well as isolated typologies such as the single-switch forward and the flyback converter. For higher power requirements, there is the two-switch forward and the half-bridge and full-bridge converter.

DC-DC converters are an essential factor for optimum power supply and voltage level adjustment in a wide range of applications - they transform direct voltages (DC) into different voltage levels and depths or into negative voltages.

DC-DC converters increase energy efficiency as they significantly reduce power losses and improve voltage conversion at the same time. Preferred areas of application include renewable energies, electromobility and energy-optimized industrial applications, as resources need to be conserved and a high level of efficiency achieved.

High-voltage DC-DC converters are used in many different applications - especially when electrical direct current voltages need to be converted to other voltage levels.

High-voltage DC/DC converters are used in the field of renewable energies (green energy) such as solar energy and hydrogen production. With regard to the introduction of DC grids in the private sector or DC industry grids in the commercial sector, DC/DC converters play an important role in the conversion of different voltage levels to the voltage requirements of different consumers.

DC/DC converters are also used in other industries such as the automotive industry, medical technology and the aerospace sector. 

The low DC-DC converters from Querom Elektronik cover a wide power range: 1 kW to 10 kW. To enable us to respond even better to the individual needs of our customers, our modular platform offers even more applicable power levels. The low-voltage DC-DC converters allow you to precisely define the output voltage, the maximum current and many other important parameters - because as a customer, you and your flexibility are always our focus. 

An example of the high efficiency of low DC-DC converters in energy-intensive applications: Querom converters are designed to support demanding charging and discharging processes of supercapacitors, electrolysis for hydrogen production as well as supplying hydrogen fuel cells. This enables them to reduce losses, maximize energy conversion and ensure optimal use of the available energy. Furthermore, the Querom converters are equipped with a bidirectional energy flow that feeds the energy from the supercapacitors or the hydrogen fuel cell into the system and transports excess energy back - which significantly improves overall efficiency.

But what happens in demanding systems with high loads? Here, the digital control loops and the heat-shielding design ensure precise voltage regulation and optimum cooling. This guarantees the high performance and reliability of our converters - even under difficult conditions. Querom converters offer comprehensive protection against short circuits, open circuits and overheating to ensure the general safety of the entire system. Because our aim is always to ensure that your project runs smoothly and successfully.
